Go to Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo for the biggest selection, or the closest store for convenience.
- Tokyo stores: Mega Tokyo (Ikebukuro, Sunshine City), Tokyo DX (Nihonbashi), Shibuya (Shibuya PARCO) and Skytree Town.
- Prices: Official merchandise is sold at fixed prices, so the decision is about selection, store-exclusive items and queues rather than discounts.
- Watch out: Popular new items can sell out or have purchase limits. Go early on weekdays where possible.
Japan's tax-free system changes on 1 November 2026
From 1 November 2026, visitors pay the full price including 10% consumption tax at the store. The tax is refunded after customs confirms at departure (airport or seaport) that the goods are leaving Japan, within 90 days of purchase. The minimum is ¥5,000 before tax per store. Refund methods and timing depend on the store, so ask at checkout and keep your receipts.
